Online application Design Assistant enables visitor to make an idea about types of products suitable for his needs and about their connection. User is prompted to enter necessary input parameters:
- number of satellites (LNBs) to be received
- number of required wall sockets
- topology of distribution network (star/cascade)
- input signal levels
- length of cables
Distribution network may be satellite only or incl. terrestrial band. In the latter case, it is possible to examine adding active terrestrial element (amplifier).
Presently, the application is able to construct designs within these boundaries:
1 satellite - 1 to 112 wall sockets
2 satellites - 1 to 52 wall sockets
3 & 4 satellites - 1 to 32 wall sockets
Using cascade topology the maximum number is always 64.
After entering and verifying all input parametres the calculation is executed by pressing the "Recalculate" button. Application then generates these outputs:
- list of used components
- schematic diagram
- table of expected signal levels on user outputs, values outside allowed range are highlighted
Finally it is possible to send your comments to application's designers using the form at the end of the page.
